Day 1 - Victoria to Seaside Oregon - 225miles, 362km

A long day for a short distance today, as at this time of the year the CoHo ferry has the first sailing at 10:30am, and we had to be there by 9:00am to make sure we clear customs. Just as I was pulling into the gate to pay, one of the team from work dropped by to say hello and wish me a good trip..Thanks Rene!

The ferry is 1.5 hours and about 1/2 hour to unload, so by the time we actually get on the road it's 12:30.. The weather was cloudy, sunny, dry, drizzly, rainy and a mix of windy weather and wet and dry roads. A lot of traffic this year, so getting behind a few logging trucks slowed us down..

A few shots of the trip..

A ton of construction at the ferry terminal, which is why we were crammed in the parking lot..

some road shots....

Our motel for the night.. pretty nice.. for the price!

Spent some time wandering around SeaSide, but all the shops were closed.. so headed for the beach area..

Dinner was at a local seafood place where we enjoyed some Astoria craft beer with fish and chips.. tomorrow comes early..
